Chapter 03: Farm

 

He closes his eyes as he digested the information that he is now getting.

It took him only a few second.

And then he opens back his eyes.

His entire forehead is filled with sweat and he almost buckle because of the pressure of digesting all of that information in just a short time

Fortunately, he is not that affected and manage to stabilize himself. His mind felt a bit gory but then he shakes his head.

He then keeps walking

‘I need to get out of this place as fast as possible’ his mind is clearer now and he understand a bit about this world now

As he walks inside the darkness, he could hear the sound of something in the sky. He looks up and he saw helicopters flying in the sky

‘Disaster relief?’ he thought to himself.

The helicopters shines light to the ground. Fortunately, those light is not pointed around the area where he is walking.

he already crafted a plan in his mind on how to survive the first few hours

He decided to blend in with the victims of the meteor shower. Looking at the current state of this entire place, it seems to be in chaos

However, if he were to be found in this corn field, it would be hard for him to make up a story.

From the information that he got from Calypso, this is a small town in a state of Kansas, one of the states in the United States of America.

It is a country in this planet.

Calypso only gives him general information. Most detailed information is about this town that he had crashed on and the state of Kansas.

He is actually anxious right now.

Anxious of being discovered.

From what the information gives him, if this world knows that there is an alien among them, the first thing that they would do is probably to dissect him

‘Barbaric race’ he thought to himself.

‘Fortunately, my body is at tip top condition and the nano suit have some impact resistant function’

thinking of what had happened to him when he enters the atmosphere, he remembers how he nearly died before he even reaches the ground.

At the same time, he also understood why Calypso choose this place to crash.

This place is remote, and other than a space observatory in this state there is nothing that could detect the existence of his arrival.

But the most important thing is because he looks like Caucasian race. There is a country named China.

The people of that nation seems to have some resemblance to Xian people of his planet.

As for the race of black people in the continent of Africa it resembles the Caxadu people of his planet.

And he, on the other hand resembles the Caucasian race of this planet.

Calypso judgement was that for someone like him, an alien from another planet, the right decision that would give him higher chance of survival is to crash someplace that is easy for him to blend it.

‘Calypso might have other considerations’ he thought to himself.

But Arik did not have time to think of all of the consideration. And Calypso seems…occupied right now.

‘She is still integrating. It must be one hell of a tablet’ he thought to himself.

For now, he needs to find a place of shelter or somewhere to hide.

Then he would wait for Calypso to finish integrating the tablet so that all of its function could be used. If the function is restored, Arik survival chance would be higher

All around him is darkness.

As he walks inside the corn field he could also smell the soil and the corns.

And he could hear the sound of explosion in the distance. If he had Calypso at its full function, he could use many features such as night vision and sonar mapping to just name a few.

But now, he is in a foreign world. A kid. Even though he is mature for his age, he is still a kid. And he had the feeling of a kid.

The only reason he is mature is because he had to.

And because of the transferal of information by his father that made him knowledgeable…this robs him of a few emotional abilities to handle the overwhelming emotions that he is feeling right ow

The more you know, the more you are terrified. It is like a child would not feel afraid to tangle with a snake compared to an adult man seeing a snake.

The kid could tangle because the kid does not know that the snake has poisons and venom. The adult knows hence the fear.

Arik has knowledge and the knowledge makes him feel fear.

But even then, he is doing his best to contain the feeling of sadness, despair and helplessness that he is feeling right now

He keeps walking and sometimes he would fall and stumble, his clothes dirtied, his knees get scraped.

But he kept walking.

After a while, he got a hang of it.

His nano suit is badly damaged after his crash but at least it still had the function of morphing itself.

If not, it would be hard to explain his fashion sense. If anyone saw him when he first arrived in this world, wearing the suit, there is no doubt that they would call him an alien.

The only unfortunate thing was that the suit did not morph a boot or shoes for him so he is still walking barefoot.

The nano suit is damaged…if not, it could morph into shoes and boots.

He thought of this and many other thought to distract himself from other bad memories.

Then he finally went out of the corn field and he seems to come into a farm. There is a house in the distance but it doesn’t seem someone is home.

He walks toward the farm and saw that there is a sign in front of the farm. He looks at it and read the sign

‘Kent farm’ he reads. He cautiously enters the Kent farm and then goes to the house but he did not enter.

‘It seems that nobody home’ he thought to himself. The light is not on and there is no car.

‘I think this place is good for me to hide for a while’ he thought to himself. He notices that there is a barn not far away from the house.

He went to the barn and saw many farming equipment.

‘A family of farmers?’ he thought to himself

And then he saw a loft in the attic on the upper level of the barn

It is furnished like a den

‘Since no one is here’ he said to himself. he climbs the two flight wooden staircase and stand on the loft. There is a couch, a desk, a hammock and a bookcase.

He stands there and finally heaved a sigh of relief.

He looks from the open window of the loft and saw the destruction that is going on in the distance.

Even from here, he could see the smokes rising high toward the sky

He saw the fire that soar toward the sky.

He saw helicopters in the sky. And he saw fighter jets. All of this term come naturally for him since Calypso downloaded the information of this world to him.

‘Even though this world is primitive, they have at least discovered nuclear fission. I alone…. weak’ he thought to himself

His nano suit is not built for attacking. Instead, it was equipped with the best defense mechanism and programs that his planet had ever seen.

All of that to make sure he landed here…...and survive.

‘Father…...this place is very dangerous. If I were to be found out by the Earthlings, I am pretty sure that they would experiment on me and would not welcome me’

He still remembers what his father said to him just before he boarded the spaceship. He shakes his head, not wanting to remember.

He clenched his fist. He closes his eyes for a second and tries to contact Calypso.

‘Calypso, how much longer?’

[Fifteen minutes, Young Master]

Arik nodded and opens his eyes

then he sat on the couch.

He did not feel tired or hungry. That is because of the pill.

But sooner or later he would. And that pill is the last of it. There are not many things that he could bring with him when his planet is being destroyed

Arik is an alien from another planet.

And he is the last survivor of his race. The Last Son of Terra. He leans back on the couch and takes a deep breath.

He rubs his forehead, trying to rid away a headache he did not have. trying to calm his frayed nerves.

He closes his eyes and tries to conserve his energy.

His feet are sore. And there is some bleeding. But he doesn’t seem to care right now.

Even though the suit morph into casual clothes of the people of this world it did not give him shoes. His shoes were burned when he enters the atmosphere.

He had many concerns right now. Even though he has been in this planet for only half an hour, he has so many problems.

He could not let himself get caught. That is his first problem and the most immediate concern. Fortunately, they did not have the Golden Net.

In his planet, there is a golden net outside of the Athrax Sphere. Anything that comes into the world could be monitored as long as it is under the Golden Net.

Basically it is a surveillance system enacted by the Great Council. This world however still did not have such an advanced surveillance ability and that is good for him.

From the brief information and history that Calypso had shown him of this world, the people of this planet, if they ever got his hands on him, then they would probably treat him like an enemy.

And he could not protect himself. He is alone. If he had the technology of his home world, then of course it would be easy.

But his spaceship is damaged. And probably the weapons on the spaceship is also damaged

And he is now basically someone without a home

That is his first concern.
