Chapter 04: A Tablet

 

The first concern of his is him being captured by the people of this planet.

When he was walking inside the corn field, sometimes he would look up and saw the helicopters, he could see it was the Army of this country

He shudders to think what those soldiers would do to him if they ever saw him. It probably would not matter that he is a kid.

From what he had learned about this world, they would not treat other races mercifully. And he is just basing that off from what he knew about this world treatment to other people races.

When they are actually fellow human beings

Then the second concern is about his spaceship.

More accurately part of his spaceship. His spaceship is created in two layers of defense by his father.

It could withstand a lot of things but before he was entering the atmosphere of this planet, something happened.

That one layer of defense seems to be ripped off.

And then there is also the two smaller spaceship that acts as a probe and as defense system. Of course, those two smaller spaceship is not just a probe.

It also contains something else. He did not have the time to check what it is

At that time, he had to leave Terra, and it was an urgent moment

All he knew was that his father sends those two smaller spaceships with him.

‘It probably crashed somewhere in the world right now’ he thought to himself.

‘I need to find it before the people of this world find it’ he thought. If not, this world would find out that they are not alone in the Universe.

And if they found the spaceship, then they might even conclude that there is an alien walking among them.

That is not exactly something that Arik wanted the government of this world to know. And knowing that out there is an alien civilization is not always good.

Contact with a more highly advanced civilization always only end up in one way.

Either the primitive civilization gets assimilated into the advanced civilization or it is being destroyed by the advanced civilization.

Thing is, Arik did not come to conquer. He is a seven-year-old kid that fears for his life. Despairing at the fact that his planet is no longer there.

Helpless of how weak he is.

But, if the people of this world find the spaceship, they might not think that the intention of the alien from space is benevolent.

They might think that he is a vanguard for an invasion force.

And this time, regardless of whether he came from an advanced civilization or not, he is weak.

Without all the technology of his civilization, he is no better than the normal humans in this planet.

He will be hunted and if he is captured he would be tortured. Humans seems to like torturing their own people.

However, Calypso chose a good planet.

The people of this world bleeds the same way he did.

And even though they are primitive, this is only because they are still at the beginning of their civilization

His civilization had more time and……more united.

It is then reasonable that his planet is more advanced. And this world is very similar to his world

Only that their sun is a bit different.

They have a yellow sun.

Arik was used to the blue sun.

The people of his planet harvest the heat of the blue sun and the Athrax Sphere make sure that the blue sun does not burn their planet.

However, this mean that he would die from their guns.

While his nano suit probably could deflect the bullet, judging from the information that Calypso gave him, they have missiles and more powerful weapons

The nano suit is not an invincible suit. Especially when almost all of its power is almost depleted when he enters this world.

He had to eject himself from the spaceship when that tragedy struck before he enters the atmosphere. So, he did not crash with his spaceship

Instead he hoped that his spaceship was crushed. If it’s not, then he had to find three spaceship

Instead, it was he that crash.

‘I think Calypso has made sure no satellite could capture the image’ he thought to himself.

It would be pretty shocking if one could see a young kid burning up in the atmosphere as it falls down from the Heaven

After all, kids just don’t fall out of the sky.

The fact that he did not have a broken bone or suffer massive internal injury is the testament of how powerful the nano suit in defense method

When the nano suit recognize that he almost fainted because of the fear as he was crashing down, the nano suit injected a few drugs into his system so that he could calm down and at the same time created a force field around him

So when he crashed on the corn field, it created a powerful electromagnetic blast that probably wipes out all power system in all the state of Kansas

It is also the reason why his nano suit is almost out of energy

He then leans back on the sofa and close his eyes.

‘I am thinking too much. Is it the drugs?’ he thought to himself.

He takes a breath, in and out

He regulates his breathing and trying not to remember certain memories.

There is only fragment of memories in his head. Some he probably blocked because of trauma. And some of them might be the memories that his father had blocked for him.

Then a voice sounded in his mind

[The recalibration of the system has been completed.  New protocol added]

[Magic is integrated]

[New rules are being formulated]

[Initial objective of survival become the core of the system]

[Manipulating energy source to fit the core objective of the system]

[Finding template for the magic element to be applied to the host]

[Suitable template found: Nervian race]

[Integrate with the Laws of this world]

[Added innovation]

[Imitate gaming system for easier understanding of the host. Simplification in progress. Simplification complete]

[System updated]

Arik was shocked with the sudden barrage of notification that appear all of a sudden. But he does notice something that brings chills all over his body

Magic.

That is the word that shakes him to his entire core.

‘Why does magic…’ then he tries to remember what Calypso tells him.

It said that magic is integrated.

‘Wait? The tablet?’ And another memory flashed in his mind

“You will ensure the survival of our race. Our hopes and dreams travels with you” 

Then his father throws the tablet to him

At that time, he thought it is an energy power source.

Considering that his father had found a new element of power, Arik thought that the tablet contains the knowledge of this new element

Or it might contain some instruction

Or it might even be some kind of message. The fact that it could be integrated with Calypso made him believe it to be so.

But magic? He did not think that the tablet is a magical item. He clenches his fist when he spoke of magic.

There is anger and a bit of fear.

‘There is also new protocol? What new protocol?’ he thought to himself. But from what he remembers, Calypso did say that the core objective of the system did not change.

The core objective of the system is to strengthen him and ensure his survival. That is the main core objective

But, there are some words that Calypso said that did not make sense to him.

He could understand the manipulating the energy source to fit the core objective of the system.

From his understanding, Calypso might have converted the tablet into a form of magical energy that could integrate with the system and also use it to aid the core objective of the system

As for finding template for the magic element it must be the system searching a template of a system that could fit the specification of an energy source that could be fitted and applied to the core objective.

Till there, he could still keep up.

 But when the words echo in his mind about the template that Calypso had found, he was dumbfounded.

Calypso spoke of a race called Nervian.

While Terranian had explored their universe, before the advent of the Dark Outsiders, they did not find any race of aliens that is called Nervian

Arik had learned at the Skypeak Academy in the Faroth Star and he is quite sure that of the many alien civilizations that Terra United Government had found, there is not one of them that is called Nervian

He then feels the chill again

‘The tablet?’ At this time Arik had already gotten up from the sofa and he paced around the loft back and forth, his hand is rubbing his chin and he is closing his yes

‘Did Father leave an instruction?’ he thought to himself
